Chapter 4 - "the tornado"
Then, Chefy came to me and said," I got a teacher to open the doors. Come on."
“No we can't the tornado is heading straight for here! We need to get out of here and go down to the house and so does everybody else," I said in a hurry. Then, I realized that there was no noise when normally there should be sirens and screams, but there wasn't. So I said, "WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE NOW!!!!!!!!!" Chefy looked around then turned to me, "Right get in the car." We were driving through the empty streets. Everybody was in the underground tunnels under the city. CLICK. Went my mind as I said, "Hey, Chefy turn right." He didn’t seem to know what I said. "It will take us too long to get to my mom's house so turn right there so we can go underground!" He turned without saying a word.
We got to the tunnel entrance, thank goodness it still had power, it was lit with street lamps. We got halfway down the tunnel when we saw people. So, we sat down in the damp, dark but yet thankfully lit tunnel. Then, we heard the tornado tear down the school and the court house. But then we knew, it was headed this way, above us! next>>>
