Chapter 4 - "the death"
The shark went right passed me and straight towards Maple. I can't let her die! She has kids and a husband.
Thinking fast, I pulled a knife I had taken from the Captain’s pocket, and dove down towards the shark. When I reached the shark, I stabbed it with all my strength. I wanted to keep trying but I was out of air. Then while I was swimming towards the surface, the shark came after me. Everything went black.
I couldn’t feel anything but I could hear Maple screaming so I took the last bit of strength I had and said, "find..... a union..... boat... and... help them... win the war.” Then I couldn't talk, and I felt no pain.
Maple screamed “I promise I will.”
I know at that moment that the shark had bit me and I had lost too much blood.
Since the mermaid appreciated Emily’s sacrifice, she wanted to honor the promise. So, she put Emily on the raft and swam off to find a union boat. next >>>
